LEED - Green Government Incentives
Reduction - Efficiency - Sustainability
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
Green Building Rating System™
The
Canada Green Building Council
(CaGBC) has embarked upon a multi-year development project to introduce guidelines
and benchmarks for new developments and renovations to existing buildings,
to enable large-scale reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, energy savings,
and other environmental benefits for all building types and communities across
Canada.
LEED is a third-party certification
program and an internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction
and operation of high performance green buildings. It provides building owners
and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact
on their building's performance.
LEED promotes a whole-building
approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of
human and environmental health: Sustainable Site Development, Water Efficiency,
Energy Efficiency, Materials Selection and Indoor Environmental Quality.
Lachance
Construction fully supports the initiatives of
LEED
and welcomes inquiries regarding the development of new projects, the retrofitting
of existing buildings and obtaining certifications through the program.
The
Ministry of Natural Resources Fire
Management Facility in Hearst is the first
LEED
project we completed, and is also distinguished as the first
LEED
project completed in North Eastern Ontario.
